Bookmarking so I can come back and start reading again.

I am reading a book in Acrobat Reader DC and I want to bookmark a page so I can come back later and continue reading again. My Nook has bookmarking capabilities like this and it is nice. My document I am currently reading is on my laptop. I think I was able to bookmark a page a couple days ago (I do not remember how I did it.) But when I went to "close" my book for the day, Acrobat asked me to rename my document. What's this? I just wanted to get out of the book and do something else. So how do I put a "mark" in my "book/document" so I can come back later to read it. Right now I have to write the page number down on a piece of paper so I can find my place when I come back to the book.

The free Adobe Acrobat Reader does not let you make an official "Bookmark". (You can in the paid version.)

Your easiest and probably best option is to use the commenting feature. Create a comment. When you reopen the document, open the Comments panel and click the comment to navigate to it.

Test it and see if that works for you or if you have other questions.

Adobe's term "Bookmark" probably means something different than what you are trying to do. As I understand it, you just want to come back to the last read page of a document you have closed and re-opened, correct?

If so, go to Edit>Preferences>Documents>Open settings and check the box that says "Restore last view settings when reopening documents."

I switched for more than 2 years now to foxit reader precisely because I thought my Acrobat Reader DC didn't have this feature! And now you've opened my eyes! Thank you so much!

I'm throwing my foxit reader outta the window, LOL!

It worked, but I had to make a new document. I just added a number one after the document name. But I was hoping I did not have to make a new document just to mark my spot. Also I had to read alot about "comments" before I got to what I needed. The answer you gave me is correct. I would have found the answer if you directed me to the exact spot where the answer was. Thanks for your answer!!!!

I'm glad it's working, and you're welcome!

And I'm sorry I didn't explain comments or send a link to explain them. Oftentimes people already know how to use them—I would have been been happy to have given step-by-steps there if you had asked again. Any kind of comment should work for what you are trying to do. There are some in the toolbar and more in the Comments panel.

But the reason this should work is because when you click a comment in the Comments panel, it navigates to that page and panel. And that's easier than writing it down or taking a screen shot.
