I just updated Adobe Viewer and to my alarm receive McAfee with it without my consent or even knowledge. McAfee is an aggressive, nasty "antivirus" that is worse than the damn viruses! Its own uninstall feature doesn't work, meaning that you have to search the web looking for ways to remove this plague on society. Honestly an updated version of Adobe Viewer just wasn't worth this pain. I will not be using Adobe ANYTHING and I will avoid all Adobe products like the plague until they stop dealing with McAfee. Even being in bed with this horrible company makes Adobe look dodgy. Judgement by association and all that.
To the C-suite in Adobe - this association will have tarnished your reputation as a credible company, and Goid knows how much damage to your sales it has already caused. Many people will not give feedback like e and will simply stop using Adobe.

Well that's funny because when I downloaded Adobe, McAfee comes with it automatically (and has done for some time). Why the Adobe C-suite thought this was a good idea is beyond me.

Just ditch McAfee as your download partner and I will.

No need to stop using the adobe. Adobe has nothing to do with McAfee. You can change your Anti-Virus. and Adobe will start working fine.

Adobe has an option to get McAfee Security Scan Plus at the same time one download Adobe Reader. You can just uninstall McAfee Security Scan Plus from your computer if you want to get rid of it.
I have through the years seen this when installing Adobe Reader, iow that McAfee Security was enabled by default in the installer and one had to manually un-check it to avoid getting McAfee Security installed. I don´t like this either.

Exactly it is insidious and scurrilous and not what proper credible companies do - and McAfee sure as hell isn't a credible antivirus when it has the same characteristics as the viruses they claim to counter...
