Can I get the search field back on toolbar?

Hi

Some update on AR a while ago and the search field disappeared from toolbar which is very frustrating.

I had to look in manuals to find pressing Ctrl+F brings a dialog for search - and this dialog is occupying space on text area.

And next and previous buttons etc disappeared as well.

I can't believe how Adobe destroyed this.

All manuals to all software I use is PDF - so seriously inflict on to find the way in these manuals.

Is there a way to get this old behavior back - search field on toolbar as default?

Or can I uninstall and get an older version of Adoble Reader?

Thank you.

No, there isn't a way to do it.

You can submit a feature request here, though: Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Thank you.

I might use that, but not sure how that is meaningful for a feature they removed - suddenly.

It's been there for decades and somebody decided to remove it without backward compatibilty - like a checkbox somewhere to have search field in toolbar for this document.

You had the simple version, and the more advanced search is there now too what I could see.

Just about never used that advanced.

But worst is drawing performance, it's like slow motion kind on this version XI.

And computer is I7, windows 7 and used as daw and NLE and rather powerful.

I had 2400 hits on something and tried to scroll list, but screen cannot keep up - rows with hits become blank in between. I takes 2s or so to draw what fits the screen height, pagescroll. Really weird.

Scrolling regular pages also is really, really slow in comparison with earlier versions - but not to make it all unusable.

It's like it is running on some multiplatform runtime instead of being real windows application.

My old XP from 2003 and P4 and old is instant as was AR until this XI version.

I actually prefer read pdf on this old computer instead.

But many thanks for link.

I will test competing pdf reader products either way.

And will uninstall AR and possibly reinstall if I don't get a good replacement.

If something is inflicting with all the AR updates the 7 years I had this computer.
