Can't close All Tools Pane

I am trying to permantly close the All Tools Pane.

When I click on "Prefrences" and then click on "documents" the "Allow documents to hide the menu bar, toolbars and windows control" is greyed out and I can not click on it.

How do I keep the the All Tools pane closed as it takes up 1/3rd of my screen every time I open a PDF.

Hi there,

I followed the guideance from another article that says to switch to the 'Classic' interface to resolve this issue.

Documented here:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/hide-all-tools-pane-permenatly-2023/m-p/14027323/page/3

What I found is that even the classic interface has a tools pane on the right that is visible every time you open a PDF.

This is how I solved it.

1. Click on the '>' button to hide the tools pane. This changes from icons + descriptions to icons only.

2. Down the bottom of the pane ther is a symbol:

|->
Click this button.

It hides the panel to a thin strip.

3. Close and reopen a PDF - the tools pane should remain collapsed.

I am using version:  2024.002.20736 64bit on Windows 10.

Hi @Michael31848114ni3h

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

We acknowledge that the new Acrobat represents a notable change; however, we hope that as you get familiar with the new interface, you can be more productive and get more out of Acrobat.

We are actively working on the suggestions/feedbacks  such as 'Allow documents to hide toolbar 'and we will address them with the highest priority.

As you get more comfortable with the new interface, please contact us with specific questions on tools, features, or functionalities. We’re happy to provide helpful resources and answers to your questions.

If your critical workflows are impacted, you can switch to the old UI from the “Menu” on the top left corner of Windows and View Menu on MacOS.

Please check this detailed community-featured post https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/learn-about-new-acrobat/td-p/14078856 , guiding you to familiarise yourself with the new interface.

Thank goodness for the directions on how to turn off the All Tools Pane by switching back to the old UI. Having that open every time I opened a document was ANNOYING!
