Can't download Adobe Acrobat reader

When trying to download the Adobe Acrobat reader/flash I keep getting the message that the newer version is already installed. There is nothing on my computer. Have tried numerous times and also after restarting my computer. The tech guy at work can't get it to download either.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jo,

If you already have installed Reader, the tool below should be able to find it, and based on the information collected by the tool I might be able to provide help in having your Reader functional.

    Please download AcroSize.exe from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ag0rlOL2mZfQFmLWPpBx-GTSVVfZipaN/view?usp=sharing

After download, make sure AcroSize.exe file has valid Adobe digital signature (right mouse click on the file, select Properties, select Digital Signatures tab, select signature from the list and click Details button). If valid, you can launch this tool.

If the tool finds latest installed Adobe Reader, "Start Reader Report" button will be highlighted; click the button and wait a few seconds.

You should see installation information for the found Adobe Reader.

Please send me AcroSize.log file created by the tool in the User Temp folder, usually C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Temp

You can also take a snap shot of the tool screen and send it to me.

Downloaded the AcroSize.exe and nothing came up. The box was blank, no files.

    Hi Joannd,

Please try the following steps and see if that makes a difference-

    • You need to find the "Program Data" folder which is generally a hidden folder and you need to enable it.

Note: Windows settings differs depending on the OS.

    • How to enable "Hidden Files" please refer to- https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files
    • Enabling hidden files will enable the Program Data and its location would be Local Dick (C:) > Program Data > Adobe > Setup.
    • Open the folder and check if you can find the AcroRead.msi file there.
    • If yes, run the file to install the application.

Let us know if this helps.

    Regards,

    Akanchha
