I am having trouble installing Reader on my new Lenovo desktop. Can somebody help me out?
1 Correct answer
The only place to download and install a copy of Adobe Reader is https://get.adobe.com/reader/, Make sure that you uncheck any options to install third party antivirus software (which is really superfluous if you are running Windows 10 and have the built-in Windows Defender software running).
The Adobe ftp site mentioned in one of the responses is no longer officially supported and updated (likely to be fully decommissioned soon).

What sort of trouble? If you get an error message please share a screen shot of it, or the full words in it. I assume you're trying to install Acrobat Reader DC (the new name for Adobe Reader).

You can get full installers here: ftp://...

Why on earth would you do that? It's a very useful resource for so many users... I direct people to it almost on a daily basis, to get full installers of Reader, as well as updates to older versions of Acrobat. Yet another strange decision on Adobe's part, harming its customers, for no apparent reason.

If by you you mean me, understand that I don't make those decisions!

By "you" I mean Adobe, which you (Dov) happen to represent on these forums, by virtue of being an employee thereof. I understand this is not a decision you (Dov) made. I just wonder what goes through the mind of those that did... It can't cost that much to maintain an FTP server with some files on it, can it?
