    No. That makes sense.

So, Microsoft Edge does not use Adobe Reader in any way. It is its own pdf viewer. You'd be best to download the document in advance by right-clicking the link to the pdf and choosing to save it (do not actually open in Edge). Open the doc in Reader itself and make your notes. It's not surprising to me at all that Edge has corrupted the file.

you are not too far off at all. i opened up the file in Microsoft edge. i then saved it to my computer. i added notes to the document that was open on the browser then saved it. when i opened the file on my computer it was working. i then added more notes to the browser document and then saved it again. when i then tried to open the file on my computer that's when i got the error message. hope it not confusing

the version i have is 17.012.20093.41392

I will assume you clicked on a link to a pdf document, opened it in your browser then saved it to your computer and that is the one that doesn't open? Did it open in the browser itself? Am I way off base?

More info would be helpful. What version of Acrobat Reader do you have (found under help>About Adobe Acrobat Reader), what exact steps you are taking to open the document...etc?

Any number of things can damage a file so, not really sure we can give you a specific answer on that. The most common cause for file corruption like this is email compression. So, receiving files through your email could break them unless they've been Zipped first.

Telling us how you received the document is a good place to start.
