Can't open

Someone sent a pdf file.  It won't open because it requires a password/  Something about an open document password.  I can't figure out how to get a password.

Hi Genneil, 

If I get it correctly, you have received a password protected pdf which you aren't able to open at your end?

Such PDFs can only be opened, only if-

1-You have been given pdf protection password

2- Or if you own the pdf and have rights to remove the password security using Acrobat DC.

Sorry to say, there isn't anything which we can help you in this case.
