Can you not get Adobe Reader anymore?

Let me premise that I searched for Adobe Reader and every link (especially on the Adobe website  all come back with links for a product called "Adobe Reader DC".

I want the basic Reader, not this new DC version.  A while back I was able to find it buried in the Adobe website and was able to install it.

So does it not exist anymore and if not where can I get the last version?   

Where can I find a chart showing the differences between the versions?  I need simplicity.  Open and read, not annotate or mark up.  I have Adobe Standard for this.

    You can get earlier versions of Reader from here: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/

    But I don't really understand why you would want to do that... All versions of Reader can add comments to PDF files.

    If you don't want to use this feature, just ignore it. And if you have Acrobat Standard then installing Reader makes even less sense, as Acrobat can do everything Reader can, and more, so why install something that's inferior to what you already have?

    Oops yes of course. All versions of ADOBE READER are end of life, but ACROBAT READER lives on.

    Actually it’s now called Acrobat Reader DC. Confusing name change. It‘s Now end of life with unfixed security issues, which is why Adobe make it hard to find.

    You mean earlier versions are past their End-Of-Life, of course. (Acrobat) Reader DC is the current version.

    And yes, changing the name from Reader to Acrobat Reader was a miserable idea...
