Change color of text added to pdf file

When I add text to a pdf file, it is invisible because the color of the text is white. I don't know how that happened & I see no capability to change the color back to black. Where is the field that allows me to change the color of text that I add to a pdf file???

How are you adding it, exactly? What tool are you using?

Also, what's your version of Acrobat or Reader?
