Clearing Recent Files

I am trying to remove the files under 'Recent' by clicking on 'Remove from this list' however the files have since been deleted. Acrobat use to tell me the file is unavailable and give me the option to delete. It does not give me the option though for these files and I want to get them removed from the recent list. Any ideas?

This is not really related to the application itself. It's a feature of Windows.
