Comments Disappeared!

Someone I know made tons of comments on PDF's over months using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC; she checked that the comments were saved (i.e., they appeared after closing/re-opening the document, many times). Today, all her comments on her files are gone. Any ideas???

 

PS. Version latest, 20.006.20034.

This just happened to me. I even did the same thing your friend did and closed the PDF and opened it right away again to see if the comments were there and they were. It seemed as though they disappeared once I saved the file to One Drive. Could it have something to do with saving to a cloud?

(p.s. I have version 21.001.20145 of Acrobat Pro)

 

Commenting here to see if anyone has a solution. This is so frustrating! My entire meeting's worth of notes are gone!! 😞

I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

 

Does the issue still occur with the latest Acrobat Reader 24.005.20421 optional update (Feb 24, 2025)? Is it happening with all PDFs or just one specific file? Please install the latest version and let us know if the issue persists. Try disabling the Protected Mode for testing purposes, and check if the comments are still disappearing. Please enable the Security settings after the testing.
