copy/paste error - stylistic sets calibri

has anyone come across this before? I want my 'g' to have the open tail (not loop tail) so I changed to stylistic set 4 in MS word. Unfortunately when I print to adobe PDF I only get the appearance of the open tail 'g'. If I try to copy/paste the 'g' from the PDF i get this symbol:    please help!
