Core DLL issue still unresolved

New Here ,
Apr 01, 2018 Apr 01, 2018

I've done EVERY SINGLE STEP outlined as a possible solution to no result. Still cannot run Reader DC - it installs but beyond that it remains there like a mentally challenged software that does nothing.

No solution? A giant company like Adobe that brought in $2 billion in revenues this quarter doesn't have one tech that can solve this issue once and for all? I've only seen like tow hundred others asking on the first few Google search pages...

Hi HomerJay,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you get the "Fatal Error"  window in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, try troubleshooting steps mentioned here Fatal error - Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server

Check if that resolves the issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Followed your link, the Registry code was already set at R18, no need to change although I did try to revert to A then back to R. No change.

I don't have any antimalware running so no conflict there either.

Your page doesn't offer any further options, assumes that it will all be fixed after the first.

I'm still surprised at the lack of a real solution folks, someone at your company should be able to resolve this, otherwise maybe outsource the problem to find a solution. Can't run your products.

This error occurs generaly occurs when you have more than 1 process of the application running.

Please try once the steps mentioned below:

1) Go to the task manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del

2) Go to the processes in Task Manager

3) End all processes related to Acrobat/Reader

4) Launch the application again.

Also, try to repair the installation from the "Programs and Features" in Control Panel.

Check if that helps.

If that does not help, run the cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs and restart your machine.

Then try to install the application from here Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Once done, check if you can launch the application without any issue.

Make sure that you are installing the application on the compatible OS version.

Refer this link Adobe Acrobat Reader DC system requirements.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Unfortunately, none of the above help.

I have uninstalled Reader (a few times already), gone and deleted any registry content, deleted all folders and files, used the cleaning tool, looked for malware, shut down other possible conflicts, nothing, nada. Nothing works.

This turn of events happened without any reason although it may have been linked to latest Windows 10 update.

All systems compatible and have been using Reader for YEARS previously, and three years on this computer.

Adobe Flash works fine within browser (games whatnot) but it's a different product of course.
