Reader, "Se congela".

Hello Andros!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reading out.

Could you please provide more details about the issue? Are you using a Windows machine or a Mac, and what version of the operating system is installed? Is the app set to run in compatibility mode for Windows 7? What is your reason for wanting to use it in compatibility mode? Does the app freeze when you attempt to launch it? What version of Acrobat Reader do you currently have installed? To find this information, go to Menu > Help > About Adobe Acrobat Reader and share a screenshot of the version details.

Also, any specific reason you want to disable the new Acrobat UI?

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat Reader installed: 25.001.20474 (Win) Apr 28, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again. For more information, see this: https://adobe.ly/3YsEeZY

We're here to help, just need more info.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

¿Podría dar más detalles sobre el problema?

No he podido desactivar la opción: “Nuevo Reader…”

No me gusta. Complica.

Hello Andros!

Thank you for sharing the details.

It looks like you're using Acrobat Reader 2025.001.20467 on Windows 7 SP1. You've disabled compatibility mode with Windows 7 because the application was freezing.

Windows 7 Compatibility
Adobe officially ended support for Windows 7 in January 2023. While Acrobat Reader may still install on some Windows 7 systems, new versions (like 2025.x) are not guaranteed to work correctly. This includes freezing, instability, and UI issues. The “entry point not found in KERNEL32.dll” error also confirms that your OS lacks key system libraries required by modern apps.

Suggestions:
If possible, consider updating to a supported version of Windows (Windows 10 or 11). Acrobat Reader 2025 is built for modern OS environments and may not function reliably on older systems. See this article for more details: https://adobe.ly/4550qgI

If you must stay on Windows 7, your best option may be to:

Uninstall the current version using the Acrobat Cleaner tool, and restart the machine. And download the supported version from here: https://adobe.ly/3GTaors

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
