Goodday I have a PDF document with a digital signature field. When I try to click on the field to sign it, I create or select a signature and then a pop up box appears to say :
Found an unexpected operator in the display list

Then I click OK to dismiss the box and the following error pops up

Unknown error
Support Information: CGetSigningParams-4001

I have tried disabling the modern user interface for signing and Digital ID configuration in the settings, and I have tried reinstalling Adobe. Does any one have any answers or suggestions as to what error 4001 indicates and how it can be resolved.

Hi Yobokkie,

Thanks for the detailed description and screenshots.

From the scrrenshot attached, it seems the Enter the Digital PIN or password box is empty. Did you fill it or get the chance to fill it? Its mandatory.

If that is not what causing problem, then try the following steps:

1- Close the application and reopen. Try applying Digital Signature on any other document. As it could be document specific problem.

2- Delete the existing Digital IDs from the list. Here are the exact steps how to do that https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/digital-ids.html (scroll down to Delete Digital IDs)

3- Create a new one. Following the exact steps mentioned here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/digital-ids.html

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi Akanchha,

This error occurs before I even have a chance to enter the pin, it's when the screen first loads.

1. I tried opening and closing several times. If it is document specific, how would I go about repairing or diagnosing this specific document? As it's no good if I can sign another document, when it's this specific one that I need to sign. It has a box on it which I need to click and add a signature.

2. I did try this

3. And I did try this. I have created digital IDs that are in the windows register as well as password protected ones. I tried with several different organisations and data in the signature in case that was the issue, but they all give this error when I click on them in the pop up.

Thanks for your reply.
