Tried numerous times to download Reader on my MAC in both Safari and Chrome. System requirements (MAC and browser) are compatible but when I go to the download page I get a 404 error. Can't even start the download. What am I missing?

Steps to Download and install Acrobat Reader DC

Go to the Adobe Acrobat Reader download page and click Download Acrobat Reader.

When the file appears at the bottom of the browser, click the file. (If you don't see the file, choose Downloads from the Chrome menu.)

Click the downloaded file
Double-click Install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to start the installation.

Double-click to install
When asked if you are sure that you want to open the file, click Open.

Click open
When prompted, enter your macOS user name and password.
In case you do not remember your password, refer the Apple document: https://support.apple.com/HT202860.

Enter username and password
When you see the confirmation message that the installation is complete, click Finish.

This may help you,

You're right. Some pretty weird stuff is going on because the link works on iPhone but not Mac. You can try this link:

https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader

By the way, Reader 8 is many many years obsolete, and wouldn't run on any modern Mac. But you can get the current (Reader DC).

What exact address do you use for the download page? So we can test it.
