Duplicating and enlarging of added text in a field in editable PDF

I've downloaded a PDF and started adding text to it and suddenly ran into this issue (see image). Why is the text doubling in the fields, and why is the duplicated text so much larger? How do I fix this?

You can't change this with Acrobat Reader. Contact the creator of the form.

Good to know. Thanks! What specifically should I ask them to edit/change to fix the issue when I contact them? If you happen to know.

They need to rename the fields so that they have unique names, and therefore could have unique values.
