Enter Password in Abobe Reader

I created a PDF form in Acrobat Pro and used a password to restrict editing. I want to give that password to some people so they can fill out the form using Adobe Reader, but when I open the PDF in Reader, I cannot find a place to put the password. What am I missing?

You don't need to give them the password (unless you set it up as a file-open password). You just need to make sure that the security policy you selected allows filling in form fields. If that's the case then should be able to use it as-is.

I think I understand what you need: your client wants a protected document, which he can open it in Reader and, by entering a password, edit, save and send to his own client. It would be, for example, a price estimate or a budget propose. Am I right?
I had the same idea but could not find a solution.

They would need Acrobat for that.

The security settings can be changed in Adobe Acrobat, not Acrobat Reader.

Thanks. I don't want to change the settings -- I want someone who is using Adobe Reader to be able to enter the password I set in Acrobat so that they can fill out the form. I want anyone to be able to view the file, but only some to be able to fill out the form. This is maybe not possible without those who are filling out the form using Acrobat instead of Reader.
