I loaded Adobe Acrobat 15.1.0.6 (for Windows) on Google Play Store.

An black Adobe icon well appear on Gmail...

Acrobat is many things, some will not work for you. Please say whether you have Acrobat Reader (free) or Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Pro (paid for). Not the Google Play app, that is not the important thing.

On Adobe Acrobat - Chrome Web Store  ​it says: "Adobe Acrobat DC/Adobe Acrobat XI (11.0.09 or higher) must be installed on your machine"
