I uninstalled Acrobat Reader DC several times, even used the cleaner tool to uninstall and re-installed. I still get the same error and cannot open documents or use the program.

"The instruction at 0x5fa6525c referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read.

Click on OK to terminate the program"

any help from Adobe experts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi reseracher, barbp54663617

Try to change the compatibility settings for Reader and see if that changes this behavior:

1- Close Reader

2- Locate Reader shortcut on desktop>right click>select Properties>under Compatibility tab>check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows 7 from the drop down options>click Apply>OK

3- Relaunch Reader.

Could you please confirm the version of Reader installed on your machine?

To check the version, launch Reader>click Help menu>select About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
