Failed to Load password protected PDF in Chrome

New Here ,
Sep 03, 2017 Sep 03, 2017

In the last moth (Aug 2017), we have found some of our password protected Adobe PDF files report a Failed to Load error in Chrome.

We can avoid it by setting the Chrome Content settings for PDF's to always download and open in Adobe Reader.

Strangely, some PDFs open fine without turning on the download content setting, and they all used to open in the browser correctly in Jul 2017.

Has there been a change to the Adobe extension for Chrome that is causing this problem? If so, when will it be fixed in Adobe/Chrome?

Cheers

Bernie

There is no longer any Adobe extension for Chrome, just to make that clear. Google blocked it and it's all their stuff now.

Chrome uses a own PDF viewer. Looks like a bug in this viewer.
