I suppose I was incorrect to say I fixed the problem. I'm still getting Error 1328 when it fails to update. The only way I can update is to uninstall it from my programs and features. I next restart my P.C. in safe mode and newest version installs successfully. In the first attached screenshot, my P.C. does not show a "setup" file in Program Data> Adobe. The second screenshot is where I install it in safe mode successfully. Any ideas on this?
Hello @hgw53t
I hope you are doing well. Thank you for sharing the detailed steps and for your cooperation.
Error 1328 typically occurs when:
- A previous patch or update was applied incorrectly.
- The installer cannot modify a file that was changed outside the update process.
- The setup files
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Setup\ are missing or corrupted.
This is why the update fails unless you fully uninstall and reinstall Acrobat in Safe Mode.

If this doesn't work, please reboot the machine, check for pending operating system updates, and install all the mandatory and optional updates. Then, restart the machine, use the Acrobat Cleaner tool to remove the currently installed Acrobat Reader, and install the Reader.
For testing purposes, please create a test user profile with full admin rights, install Acrobat Reader, and check the performance.
Let us know how it goes.
