Is it possible to get Adobe Reader program to find and highlight all italic and bold words in a document?
Not really. Indeed, it doesn't know. Italic and bold are not a style in PDF, they are a different font.

Hey there!
I believe same fearure would be applied for MS word as well. Again, exporting a pdf to MS word now that would become a whole new document format. MS would support it or not that we cannot really answer.
Thanks,
Akanchha

Try this:
"
I found a way to do it in Acrobat Pro. You can create a new Check (in the Preflight panel) using the 'Font is Italic" property. Beware: when you Add the property to define the check itself, the default setting is "is not true", which is the opposite what we're looking for. You have to set it to "is true" to be able to find italicised text.
Actually there is a lot more; we can look for small caps, serif and sans serif fonts etc. Wonderful!"

Hi Peter,
I had the same requirement and tried to do a preflight as you mentioned.
It shows No errors found. Does it not list the pages and jump to the text?

Any answer to this? I just tried it and it looks like there might be 109 instances but I don't know how to see them.

I found the Font | Is Italic didn't work for me, either. How I solved it is there is another condition Font | Italic Angle. I set the value of that to "less than 0" and it found the italics for me.
