Free Adobe Reader forcing 7-day premium purchase

New Here ,
Jun 15, 2025 Jun 15, 2025

Hello

On several workstations I have noticed that with ONLY the adobe reader version 25.6.1.0.

it forces you to subscribe, unlocking the prenium functions for 7 days, but the most problematic thing is that if you don't subscribe, the software closes automatically...

I've noticed this problem with many people, is this a change in Adobe policy?

Is it a change in Adobe's policy? A bug that will be fixed in the next update? hotfixe ? see the picture.

Thank

Hi mickael_7883,

Thank you for reaching out and reporting this.

This is weird behavior that needs to be checked. Please share the application version window using the steps suggested in the following help document: https://adobe.ly/3HGbLdz.

Please share a screenshot of the window asking you to subscribe or unlock the premium functions. Also, please share the machine's OS version number. We will check with the team about this behavior.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

I'm reopening the request because it's obviously happening again... I've used the tools cleaner and reinstalled the free version.

However I have the window that asks me to connect and if I close the adobe window it closes completely ... I downloaded the latest version via your software.

How can I solve this?

Are you sure you did not download the demo?

I just installed the Reader [on freshly reformated Windows system] and other than deselected the dumb Mcfee Virus option, I had no problems. The Reader did ask me about upgrading but I just closed the dialog box. There were a few blue buttons about trying Pro on the screen but they did not interfere with usage.

I agree with your propros

I downloaded the READER version and not the DC or Pro version. Even after uninstalling with the tool and Ccleaner, restarting the computer and reinstalling, the phenomenon reappears... I get the dialog box that asks me to connect and when I click on “cancel” Adobe closes completely without being able to do anything...

I have the same problem on several computers (Windows 10 or 11). Is there a fix or not at all?

Any explanation as to why this is happening?

Hi Enchanted_Panther5C3A, and mickael_7883 ,

Sorry about the trouble caused.

To inform you, if you have purchased the Acrobat subscription and use the same Adobe ID (email address used to purchase the subscription) to log in to Acrobat Reader, it will upgrade to Acrobat automatically. There is a single install for Acrobat Reader and Acrobat for 64-bit.

If that is not the case, please let us know and share the Acrobat Reader version number on the machine. It would be helpful if you could share a screen recording of the steps you take and the issues that occur. We will check this behavior.

Feel free to let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

LATEST

Even if you don't log in, it's the same thing...

For screenshots I've already provided several times... just go back up the discussion, I downloaded the latest READER version and not standard nor pro.

I've also used your tool to do the cleanup. I launch a pdf and I get the window that OBVIOUSLY asks me to log in, even though no account is logged in.

If I refuse, it closes Adobe Reader

The .GIF File it's a little video
