Hi, As long as I have been able to read, Adobe has offered a free PDF reader software without requiring payment of a subscription.
Has this changed? I have recently found myself unable to read PDFs and am being asked to pay $20/mo as a minimum subscription price.

The name changed from Adobe Reader to Acrobat Reader and it is still free. There also continues to be the product just called Acrobat, or Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard; this continues to be not free. All of these (free and not free) might add “DC” to their name.
