Free PDF reader - does it still exist?

Hi, As long as I have been able to read, Adobe has offered a free PDF reader software without requiring payment of a subscription.
Has this changed? I have recently found myself unable to read PDFs and am being asked to pay $20/mo as a minimum subscription price.

For anyone else struggling

If you EVER had Adobe Acrobat Pro installed, you WILL NOT be able to use Reader. It will default to Pro every time you open acrobat. Follow the instructions to UNINSTALL Adobe Acrobat Pro, and then reinstall the READER file. That is the ONLY WAY to access Reader

The name changed from Adobe Reader to Acrobat Reader and it is still free. There also continues to be the product just called Acrobat, or Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard; this continues to be not free. All of these (free and not free) might add “DC” to their name.

Hello!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reading out.

As our community product expert mentioned, Acrobat Reader is a freeware application and can be used for viewing, printing, signing, sharing, and annotating PDFs. To know more about Acrobat Reader, see this article: https://adobe.ly/4ik9Qbj

If you install the Acrobat desktop application, it is available for a 7-day trial. If you wish to continue after 7 days, you have to subscribe to the license. To know more, see this article: https://adobe.ly/3G9VvAS. For the plan and pricing, you can refer to this article: https://adobe.ly/4isMu3b

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
