Freezing and Not opening

Hello,

My adobe reader ALWAYS freezes about 10 minutes after opening and reading a document. When this occurs it not only freezes my whole computer but wont open up after unless I re-start my computer. This has happened multiple times. I have done everything from re-installing, updating/ checking for updates, repairing installations, checking to see if I have the requirements, running as administrator and everything else suggested in the troubleshoot page. None of these options seemed to work and I can't do the majority of my work because the app itself will not function. What can I do? Thank you!

Hi Neginn,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As Reader is freezing after you launched the application to read a pdf, try running cleaner tool which you can download from here: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs , reboot the machine, and download Reader DC from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution .

If that doesn't work, try disabling protected mode using the steps given in this link: https://acrobatusers.com/forum/general-acrobat-topics/adobe-reader-x-hangs-when-saving-pdf/

Please note: Disabling Protected Mode is for troubleshooting purpose only, and not recommended. Please turn the feature back on after troubleshooting is complete.

If the issue still persists, try creating a new user account and launch Reader from there. You may refer to this link on how to create a new user account on Windows:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/13951/windows-create-user-account

Thanks,

Shivam
