Getting error when opening pdf

Hello,

I have multiple .pdf files from a large aerospace company.  Each of the files contains 3D images of parts that I need to quote.  Every one I open has this error at the bottom (in red):

"WARNING: Adobe is not setup correctly. Failure to correct this will result in missing information. Reference"

It appears that the error is incomplete since the word "Reference" does not have a period after it.  I can't find any information on the error.

It sure would be nice to know if there is any information missing.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Dan

Hello,

Thanks for the response.  I'm trying to open this file in the latest version of Adobe Acrobat DC on a Windows 10 Pro 64 bit PC.

I opened the file in two other PDF readers (Foxit Phantom PDF and Nuance PowerPDF) and they both show the error at the bottom of the page in red font.

I'm going to assume this is caused during the creation of the file.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi dan_bmp

Could you please try with another pdf and see if you are getting the same error.

Assuming you have Acrobat Reader DC installed on the machine, what is the version of Reader installed on the machine?

Launch Acrobat Reader>help menu>About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Which Operating System you have on your machine-Windows/Mac?

I discovered the cause of the problem...3D content playing was disabled.

Checking the box for the option “Enable playing of 3D content” under the “3D & Multimedia” setting will prevent this message.

Hi

I see this post is pretty stale but I just had a user get this exact error and checking the 3D option

did not resolve this.

I too running DC version 2019.012.20035 am getting same error.

If I click directly on the message (which is directly in the middle of the PDF)

it will disappear but returns as soon as I click outside of its normal position in the document

Thoughts?

Hi Clayton - I had the same experience, but after closing the drawing (saying "no" to saving changes) and then re-opening, the message disappeared.
