Had to buy export, want back to Free

How do I return to a free Adobe Reader account? It seemed I had to purchase an Adobe account in order to convert a pdf to a Word text, but I have never had to do this before in nearly 30 years of academic research, and I don't foresee having to do it again. So--I want to cancel that account (still w/in 14 days), and return to an Adobe Free reader account. How do I do that? I'm trying to cancel the "Export" account, so that I get reimbursed for the $24.9X and do NOT get charged every year for a service I will not use. I'm retired now, and I can't afford to have recurring payments like this pile up on me.  --  HELP.  Wendy L. Johnson
