Header & Footer using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

New Here ,
May 05, 2021 May 05, 2021

I had to change to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to sign documents as Adobe Acrobat would not allow me to sign documents anymore. Now I cannot add a header & footer to my documents using this new Adobe Reader DC. Is there a way of adding header & footer to the tool bar?

No, Reader does not have this functionality, only Acrobat does. I recommend you try solving the issues you had with Acrobat.

Hi Sinead

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to sign the PDF using Adobe Acrobat and now cannot add a header & footer to my documents using this new Adobe Reader DC.

What happens when you try to sign the document using Adobe Acrobat? Do you get any error message? If yes please share the screenshot of the same for a better understanding.

Also what is the version of the Adobe Acrobat you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates

The function to add header and footers to the PDF is not available in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC application as its a free application with limited functionality. For more information please check out the help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/faq.html

To know how to add header and footer please check the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/add-headers-footers-pdfs.html

Regards

Amal

Going from Acrobat to Reader is a massive downgrade. You need to upgrade Acrobat, not replace it with free stuff. What version of Acrobat was it?
