Hi there, we have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader DC installed on all our clients.

A little amount (2-3) have suddenly gotten these weird software exception errors:

The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x0041240b

We have tried several fixes from all over the place, from deactivating speech recognition to reinstalling and so on.

I have spent more time on this issue than i would have liked so im reaching out here.

If someone has got any idea on how to fix it, and just to know reinstalling the OS is the last thing i would do, feel free to post it here.

FYI

We got Windows 7 Pro x64

The newest Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Version

All older Adobe Acrobat Versions are already uninstalled. (I also used the uninstaller from the adobe lab)

If you need more to know feel free.

Kind Regards

Dani

Hi Dani,

Can you please provide me the logs when error is encountered to debug the issue better.

Steps to create the logs are at : http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatmonitor.html

Download Acrobat and Reader Process Monitor Tool - Adobe Labs

Let me know if you face any issues in taking the logs for error message.

Please share the logs at my email ID (Sending the details in private message ).

Thanks,

Shakti K
