How can users permanently hide the 'All Tools' pane?

Older guides do not work.

Using a free version.

Please don't force trail periods and pop ups on your uses

1st ANY design behavior can be changed or modified.  It's called code... look it up!
2nd SHAME ON YOU for "fixing" something that wasn't broken, just so you could break it and screw people out of hard earned money in this economy.
3rd To go back to the OLD VERSION click on Menu, Click on Disable New Acrobat Reader (4 options above Preferences), click Restart and enjoy what we all are used to.
Oh, and BTW, I didn't create an account just to upvote, I signed in with Google.  (Removed)

I just got new HP Zbook which has no preinstalled Foxit anymore as last couple of them has been, and didn't want to purchase Foxit, and so I installed Adobe Reader. But after seeing all tools and try7days trial too many times so far, (meaning I have been working today 4 hours), I decided to uninstall Adobe and buy license for Foxit. Thank you and goodbye, it was your own choice.

Foxit is free (like Acrobat Reader), so you don't have to buy it. Unless you need specific features that are not in the basic product.

New layout is nice, but stop using dirty tricks to get subscriptions. Frustrating! Back to old version.

Completely agree!  This should not open everytime - extremely annoying and time consuming.  Do they not test these programs before rolling out???

I had the new Acrobat UI and there was the option "Remember current state of toolpane" which was checked, but still the tool pane was opened when opening a document! Why have the option if it doesn't do any difference? Insane. Good thing you can go back to the old UI. Let's hope they don't take that away from us.

Because if they don't explicitely remove it, they can pretend that woopsie, it just mysteriously doesn't work anymore!

Then eventually they're forced to admit it in this thread, but not many people read this thread compared to the vast majority of users. So they maintain a cleaner facade.

Hi. Going out of my way to log in and reply to this thread to iterate how much I value this feature in the Old UI. Please apply this to the new one.

Hi

This was annoying me on the version I user at work.  I found the answer was to tick a box under the Accessibility settings under Preferences.  'Always use page layout style'.

Which one?  I tried some but no result. Please give more details.

@CDinside

On the New UI of Acrobat, navigate to View>Disable New Acrobat. Once reverted to the old UI then, navigate to

Acrobat Reader>Edit >Preferences>General> Documents> Check "Remember current state of toolpane">OK then Hide tool pane to keep it close for next time.

Thanks,

Akanchha

There is only one solution available which is "got to old UI". Then follow the method available for old UI. Thanks.

it worked for me... running the latest version and using the "old" interface. Now the "remember tool pane state" flag works

Hi @Toke28748572o2wo

Thanks for reaching out.

You can hide the Tool pane of Acrobat by clicking on the (x) icon next to it (as shown in the screenshot). However, the functionality to hide or remove it from the Home view permanently is not possible.

It's a design behavior and cannot be changed or modified.

You can write your suggestion to our engineering team by filling out this feature request form here: https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Thanks,

Akanchha

This horrible, user unfriendly behaviour is exactly why I canceled my Adobe subscriptions and will never use any of your products again.

There is only one reason why you have this 'design behavior' and that is to irrirate your customer until they reach the point where they give up and purchase a license. Well guess what, that ain't going to happen. Shame on you Adobe.

@Han32048944ywyk Wellsaid. What you said is 100% correct. Its a horrible and very cheap design practice. I had to let my subscription canceled too.
