This worked for me.
I had the same issue with a PDF document I was reading; i.e. I was was looking for Table of Contents in Acrobat. But it looks like the document had arranged the Bookmarks accordingly.
Maybe it's not exactly the same thing as Table of Contents, but I guess it can perform the same function (Unless you need a list of Bookmarks in the document that are separate from the official Table of Contents etc.)

Hello,

I will just join the existing topic with a similar issue, I have.

I created a table of content in InDesign and exported an interactive PDF.

I can see the table of content in some pdf viewers; for example Microsoft app:

but not in Adobe acrobat pro, there I see the content of each page):

How can I set adobe acrobat pro to see the table of contents?

Thank you

Hello,

I know the answer, but don't know how to delete the previous post ...

was looking at the wrong tab, the Bookmark tab is showing the right table of content.

In the document I'm reading, a 1071 page math text, the table of contents in Adobe Reader DC (v2015.016 ) is automatically constructed and made available as a hierarchical set of Bookmarks, which appear to be functionally and visually identical to that provided by Preview (v859.21) on Mac OSX (v10.10.5).

Note: The table of contents also appears as pages of the text itself, but it does not have clickable links, so an in-text TOC might be a requirement for a bookmark based TOC.

No, the two things have nothing to do with each other. You can have a bookmarks tree with or without a TOC (clickable or not), and vice versa.

Clearly, I misinterpreted what I experienced on displaying this particular document in Adobe Reader. It must have already contained a bookmark implementation of a TOC.  I will try to delete my comment.

Thank you.

Do you mean the bookmarks? If so, that tab will only appear if the file actually has them (which it doesn't necessarily have).

No, Table of Contents.

Hi yeuwen,

Table Of Content is created in InDesign.

Does pdf have TOC in it?

Also, let me know application that you are using to view the PDF, is it Acrobat or Reader?

Regards,

Aadesh
