Community Beginner ,
Apr 29, 2020 Apr 29, 2020

I wanted to add menu to existing Adobe reader Application in macOS. Any heads are much appreciated. It would be more helpful if anyone can point to documentation, and any plugin sample. Which language or tools can be used to develop macos plugins. Thanks in advance

You can do that with a script and add your button to the File menu. It's
much simpler and much cheaper than using a plugin.

Acrobat and Reader use JavaScript for internal scripting. The documentation is available in the SDK.

See: https://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat.html

If you're interested I could write this script for you for a small fee and explain exactly how to use it. You can contact me via [try6767 at gmail.com] to discuss it further.

And you won't need any special license or anything like that. It can't create new top-level menus, though, like a plugin, so you have to use the existing ones.

"Adobe is not supported by apple script"

"Adobe" no, of course. But Acrobat and all Adobe software available for MacOS are.

But AppleScript is not supported by Windows.
