Hi,
It drives me crazy that I can't hide this menu, Tried the F8 or F9 option didn't do anything and I tried 'Remember state of Tools Pane' option which also didn't work, Is there a way to hide this menu?

F8 and F9 both do something:
Shift + F4 will collapse/expand the right-hand tools.
See View menu > Show/Hide for other shortcuts.

Hi, maybe it works on the older version, not on the version I have, F8 + F9 Don't do anything for me and the Shift + F4 doesn't exists (see screenshot below)
Is there anything else I can do?

that reply is OK, BUT the NEW reader has some neat features, and the ONLY things i do NOT want showing up at startup are the ALL TOOLS, and the BOOKMARKS. I can open them if i need them, but even in the NEW adobe reader, there should be a way to turn these off????
any other assistance appreciated

It appears that you replied to me @Katherine25066080b99w ?
I am also on macOS. I reviewed my replies and I think you are replying to the one where I suggested disabling the New Experience.
See if this helps:

I have disabled it and it still shows the menu and tool bars to the top and the right. It is so frustrating!

OMG, I would have never guessed this, but it works! Thanks!
For the life of me I'll never understand why Adobe keeps trying to ram their preferred setups down our collective throats.

This still didn't work for me. I disabled it and the menu bars are still showing on the top and the right. I have tried all of the hide toolbar options and nothing is working. I have a Macbook. Has anyone figured this out yet?
