How to integrate hardware security tokens into Adobe products?

I am an OEM of a digital signature token which supports PKCS11. I want to integrate the token with Adobe products so that my customers can use my token to sign PDFs directly from Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat or such Adobe products.

How should I go about that?

Dear Akanchha,

Thank you for your response. We already read through this page and tried the steps. Unfortunately as soon as we select the option:

A Device Connected To This Computer

Select this option if you have a security token or hardware token connected to your computer.

and have connected the USB token the OS seems to not be able to find the token. It looks like we are missing something here? Is there a driver we need to write up? Is there a middleware of some sort that is needed?

Any help in this matter will be appreciated.

When you connect a USB token to the system, does it recognize that an external device is connected? If not, the device is probably not supported or has some hardware issues. We're not sure of any supported driver related to this.

All we could say is to try after rebooting the system and check for the system updates.

Once the USB token is detected, only then can we proceed further.

Try what is suggested here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/acrobat-reader-dc-does-not-recognize-my-sm...

and https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/adobe-acrobat-could-not-find-an-new-digita...

If this doesn't help, you might need to contact the vendor who provided this device.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hello,

The token shows up as a smart card in the Device Manager. Other tools are able to interact with it as well. What might be the challenge here? Also, are you aware of what commands are sent to the token from the Adobe Acrobat?
