How to open Adobe Acrobat Reader - the world’s most trusted free PDF viewer?

Hi all,

 

There is a problem or a bug, when I try to open a PDF file with  Acrobat on desktop FREE, it asks me to sign in.

I have two accounts, my work account does not contain Adobe Acrobat PRO, but my own account has.

It is extremely inconvenient to switch accounts in the creative cloud application, but you know it and it doesn't matter in this case.

 

What is matter, that I cannot open PDF files using this software https://get.adobe.com/reader/ 

I downloaded and reinstalled it twice, but it still detects that my work account doesn't have PRO. I do not need PRO in that case, I just want to open PDF for reading and not in the Chrome tab.

How I can do that? Is it possible to open in FREE mode?

    When you need both Acrobat & Reader in the same computer

    If you have installed the 32-bit Acrobat Reader application, you will be automatically upgraded to the 64-bit version of Acrobat Reader gradually. This upgrade is silent and currently applicable to a limited number of users. 

    If you have installed Acrobat Reader 64-bit and purchased an Acrobat subscription, the Acrobat Reader 64-bit application will upgrade to a fully functional Acrobat 64-bit application. 

    In this scenario, you need 32-bit Acrobat and 32-bit Acrobat Reader combination.

     

    Download the Acrobat installer from here:

    Download the Acrobat Reader installer from here:

    https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

    I have the same problem, Is the reader no longer FREE?

    I only have the reader on my laptop, and it still asks me to pay for the viewer. HELP!

    Thank you for reaching out.

     

    You should be able to use the free version of the application. Please ensure that you have installed Acrobat Reader, not Acrobat Pro. 

    Would like to inform you that now there is a single installer for Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro. So, once you sign in using your personal email address in Acrobat Reader, it upgrades to Acrobat. After that, you cannot downgrade it to Acrobat Reader even if you sign out. This case seems to be occurring at your end.

    Either you use the Acrobat Reader on a separate machine where you do not require Acrobat, or you can sign in using your work Adobe ID.

    Or you have to reinstall the application whenever you wish to switch from Acrobat to Reader version.

    Yes, you are right, this is my case.

    I guess you understand that all workarounds are not applicable in real life. It is simpler to find another the world’s most trusted free-FREE PDF viewer and it's done.
