How to Print 11x17 as two 8.5x11 sheets

Hello everyone,

Recently I downloaded a manual in PDF format that is setup to print B-size (11x17), however my printer only supports printing A-size (8.5x11).

Rather than scaling the manual pages down so that it prints a full 11x17 print on one sheet of 8.5x11 (thus making the font really hard to read) is there a way to print the 11x17 pages as two 8.5x11 sheets?

Thanks for your help!

I actually just found this article: Print posters and banners | Acrobat, Reader

Looks like Adobe reader does support tile printing. Thanks for informing me of the correct terminology for what I am trying to do.

That would be called tiling and is only available in the full version of Acrobat.

Thank you for the fast reply.

Tiling, hmm, well I'll have to find an alternative then. Perhaps there is an open source utility out there that can do that, or that can do a conversion on a document to turn this file into a series of A-size sheets.
