Hyperlinks don't open in Acrobat Reader DC

I have documents with hyperlinks and I get this error for them:

The plug-in required by this 'URI' action is not available. Information about the missing plug-in may be available on Adobe's Web site.

I have a Mac with Mojave 10.14.6 and the version of Acrobat is 2019.012.20040

I'm not a computer expert by any means, but I've looked at Adobe's site and I don't see anything that offers me a plug-in to make the hyperlinks work on my computer. I tried a couple different documents and got the same error. One of them I opened in a browser and it seemed to work, but I want to be able to open it on my computer. Please help.

Not sure if I understand your question correctly but if what you are asking is to be able to open rich media content via an URL maybe we are talking about installing the correct flash player plugin?

On the other hand, you can also choose and enable the default browser to be used by Adobe Acrobat if what you are asking is to be able to open and display PDFs with a URL link in the document.

PREFERENCES--->CATEGORIES--->WEB BROWSER OPTIONS--->"How to setup your browser to useAdobe products to view PDF documents"

So when you say to be able to open it in your computer are you asking to open it and view the content in a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro?  or are you asking about a mac operating system question?

Hi Gwaelizb,

Thanks for reaching out. As described above, Hyperlinks don't open in Acrobat Reader DC, correct?

Clicking any link to the Internet poses a potential security risk. Malicious websites can transfer harmful content or silently gather data. If you are concerned about these risks, you can configure Acrobat and Acrobat Reader to display a warning when a PDF attempts to connect to an Internet site.

You can allow Acrobat and Acrobat Reader to contact selected websites by adding their addresses (URLs) to your list of trusted websites in the Trust Manager preferences. Alternatively, you can allow all URLs.

Please try the troubleshooting steps provided in the help article - https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/allow-or-block-links-internet.html and see if that works for you.

Additional Help:

You may also refer to the help article - https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

Let us know how it goes
