I cant open a pdf on my mac

Here is what is now says and I have tried to download a new version but it keeps saying that i have a higher version on my computer

Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Acrobat Reader DC works with this version of macOS. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and macOS.

sorry to hear about the situation. As mentioned, you are not able to open the PDF and getting the error 'A new version is already installed', correct?

• What is the version of the Mac OS you are using?
• What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC installed? To check the version of the application please use the link  https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html

Check for any missing update. A new version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader got released on 24th Oct 2019 version 19.21.20049. please update the application go to Help > Check for Updates.

If it still doesn't work, please try the following steps:

• Remove the application using the Adobe Acrobat Cleaner Tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs
• Reboot the computer 
• Reinstall the application using the link Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
