Hi, I have used Acrobat DC to create a form that people can download on my website and then customize. The idea for them is to add their first/last name and upload their picture. I have inserted the corresponding fields on the form but when people download it, they face several issues:
- nothing happens when clicking on the image field (it works on Acrobat DC)
- the first/last name fields appear differently according to the navigator used (it is even cut on Mac computers).
Anyone could help on this?
Thanks in advance !
Hi, sorry for the delay. My client had an IT person look at his computer, and they updated his Acrobat. He said he was using DC... but like you say there may have been a user error!
The file works fine now 😄
But thankyou for the info, I will certainly bear that in mind and I may use your advice to send out in a disclaimer with my email to the client.

Users must use Acrobat Reader DC and nothing else. You must make sure they know this, and know not to view forms in a browser, in their email, or in any other "navigator". This is important, as users will know they can read a PDF without downloading anything and will not see any reason to bother.

I'm also having the same problem. When the PDF is opened on a PC, the form fields do not work. They are using Acrobat Reader DC on a PC.

Hi there
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDF forms? Please try with a different PDF form and check.
Have you created this PDF form or have you got it from a different user?
Please ask the author/creator of the PDF form to make it reader enabled.
Open the PDF form in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC > File > Save as other > Reader extended PDF > Enable more tools (Includes form fill in and save) and see if that works.
Regards
Amal

Aha - I didn't know I had to save it in a different way! I was just saving it as PDF. I've tried Reader Enabled... and have sent it off to my client to see if it works. Thankyou so much!!

If the users use Reader DC enabling the file is not needed.

Hi,
My client just tried with the new PDF and it failed to work again. I saved as Reader Extended PDF. He can type in the text field but nothing happens when he clicks on the image field. I want him to be able to insert his own logo image. He is using Acrobat Reader on a PC. I'm using Professional on an Apple Mac.
Also, I believe this is on someone else's thread, should I start a new one?

What exact version of Reader are they using? Ask for a full-window screenshot.

1. Have you tried it in Reader yourself?
2. What you (and us) are looking for in a screen shot is confirmation that the user is using Acrobat Reader DC, specifically, at this moment for this PDF. Many people will confirm endlessly that they are "using" Reader when in fact they have only INSTALLED Reader, and are actually VIEWING in a browser, email app or whatever.
