Internet Explorer and Adobe Reader Error (10:10)

Hi all,

We have a number of staff reporting Error (10:10) when viewing pdf documents within Internet Explorer.

Error:   There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (10:10)

We are running Adobe Acrobat Reader DC v2019.010.20098

We are running IE v11.0.9600.19301

This error doesn't occur with every pdf, and is causing frustration when it occurs.

After looking through the forums we have tried uninstalling using the Acrobat cleaner tool Error (10:10) , and installed a clean install.

The staff tried clicking CTRL + OK on the error message, but advised they were given no additional information.

There is no information in Event Viewer.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello,

Was there ever a fix for this issue? It is now April 2020 and I am still encountering this with the latest Acrobat Pro DC (Continuous) update. Embedded PDFs work in Firefox but not in IE. But because of SharePoint compatibility we recommend users to use IE with SharePoint which makes it a huge problem when they can't view embedded PDFs. Furthermore, the workaround of disabling enhanced security mode is not ideal.

Can someone from Adobe please provide some insight?

Amal.

Hi Dwillis

We are sorry for the trouble and the delay in response.

++ Adding to the discussion

Please refer to a similar discussion (https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader/error-10-10/td-p/8411678?page=1) and see if that works.

Thanks

Amal

Can someone at Adobe please advise what error 10:10 refers to?  Then perhaps we can troubleshoot ourselves.

The new update is still not working. We need answers! Seems with bprotectedmode reg key set to 1 it works but then printing is having a problem so 1 fix creates another problem.

i am having the same error with latest version of Adobe Reader DC v2019.012.20034. Addon version as shown in IE is v19.10.20064.310990.

Same despite total uninstall and reinstallation. I tried it on 2 different other machines with same results.

I'm seeing this, and it is intermittent.  Been seeing it here and there for a month or so.

The workaround for the moment has been pulling the URL in Chrome, and it'll work fine.

With that in mind, it seems to some interaction with IE and the Adobe PDF extension.
