Large PDF files (5MB) lags/ freezes when loaded / viewing

I recently received a new lap top running 64 bit Windows 10. I downloaded Adobe Reader DC but it is only 32 bit. I can open a file of drawings, go to the proper drawing than everything freezes and message says "not responding". I am about ready to stop trying to use this and find a different PDF reader.
