Layers Icon?

I'm using the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. I used to be able to open A0 sewing pattern files and use the layers icon to choose only 1 size to print. I can't find the layer icon in the newest version. I've also disabled the new version, and now can't see the layers icon in the older version. 

Is this now a paid feature? I'm not creating pdf's with layers, just trying to omit layers when printing.

I'm on a Mac, if that matters.
