I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, and I'm trying to get my dual tray brother printer to print loan documents. The documents contain a mix between legal and letter size paper so I would like for it to be able to automatically choose between what paper size that is needed. I have checked the box that says "choose paper soure by PDF page size" and it worked. But recently I recieved a document that had "foreign" font which my printer wasn't able to print. So I called my printer company and they told me to go to "print" then select "advanced" then select the box that chooses "print image". After doing that it was now able to print but unable to select between the letter and legal size pages!! Does anyone know how I can fix this problem??

That is hard to troubleshoot from Adobe Reader if your question is aimed at how to edit or access other printing settings and preflight options that you get with Acrobat Pro.

It looks like it is more related to printing preferences or properties which you can manually adjust through your operating system and improve driver performance.

It could also be manually adjusted through your printing device settings.

I would go to the vendor support website, and download the most current drivers for that printer, and follow the step by step installation instructions from the vendor... do mot allow the operating system to install its own thing automatically.

If this does not work post bak again and share a little more info about your OS, version of Acrobat Reader and printer device model

I forgot to suggest to you that instead of printing as image select "Print to PDF". The file will be converted to a postscript file. Open that newly created postscirpted file in Adobe Acrobat And try printing that file instead of the original document.

You may also check the following

It does not make sense to me why would they have you print a PDF document as an image, you are basically created like scanned copy (which is an image) of the original file. And if you went that far in printer settings you may also want to check the following:

And most importantly check here:
