When I open my PDF on a computer these little black boxes with a smaill white "+" in the middle of it apprears on the fields I need to complete. It doesn't happen when I open it on my Laptop though. I noticed also that when I click on the field it disappears but when Ii move to the next field it reappears again. And also when I print my PDF it still apprears there. It is distracting and blocks text on my printed documents. How do I remove it?

Actually, there is a way! Go to Edit - Preferences - Forms and tick off "Show text field overflow indicator".

The plus sign indicates that the text in the field can not be fully displayed. If you can't edit the field you can't get rid of it in Reader, I'm afraid.

Is the PDF definitely opening in Acrobat Reader?

On Windows, does it say Acrobat in the window title?

On Mac, does it say Acrobat in the menu bar?

I ask because there are many other apps that can open PDF files, some of which come with your computer.

You can't remove it with Acrobat Reader.

So is there a way to remove it? Do I need a different Adobe application.

You can change the form with Adobe Acrobat Pro or Standard when the file is not protected.
