Hi guys, can someone help. I have Acrobat x and adobe reader dc installed on one device.

When I right click the decument, its not giving me options to open it with acrobat x.

The work around is to open acrobat x and browse to the file but the user is not happy with that long way, this use to work fine but not anymore. I also can't change it to default to the acrobat x.

Adobe officially does not support a parrale installation of Acrobat and Reader on the same system. It may work but don't has to. Also, Acrobat X is dated and not designed for actual available operatings systems, There might be compatibility issues. Try to reinstall it with admin rights and compatibility settings for say Windows XP, in case you're working on Windows.

Hi Vuyisa

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

Adobe Acrobat X is an old and EOL application if compared with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC . As per the designed behavior, the latest /updated application becomes the default PDF handler on the machine.

Also, it is not recommended to install Acrobat Reader and Acrobat pro  on the same machine as one is the subset of other.

If you want to make the Acrobat x as the default application, you may consider removing the Acrobat Pro DC from the machine.

Hope this information will help

Regards
