Download the PDF from this link Shared Files - Acrobat.com

Then try to open this PDF in the application and check if you get the Comment tools or not.

If you the tools do not appear, try repairing the installation.

Launch the application and go to Help menu > Repair Installation.

If that does not help, you may try re-installing.

Run the cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs to remove the application and reboot the machine.

Then re-install the application from here Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution.

    Hope this helps.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Meenakshi

This file is a scan. There's no text in it, so you can't highlight anything

    in it.

HiI have saved a text doc file  as a pdf. I cannot highlight anything at all, as the option does not come up.  I have been able to do so in the pastregardsKarl
