Mac OS 10.15 Catalina...

I have just upgraded my iMac desktop to Catalina 10.15. The current Adobe Reader DC on my machine is 2019.008.20080. When checking for Reader updates, I notice that the update app is not reading my iMac's info correctly. Is there an update for my Reader that is compatible with this new Mac OS 10.15 update? The one that I have downloaded but not installed is: AcroRdrDC_1901220040_MUI.pkg. Suggestions?

In general, Reader updates itself. You should not need to download anything, and I'm not sure why you have downloaded the special MUI version.  Nothing is supported on Catalina yet, of course, but some people have success (or "dodge a bullet" as you might say). There are no new updates since Monday. You wrote " I notice that the update app is not reading my iMac's info correctly" - can you expand on that please - what do you see?

(Update: I can see that your Reader has NOT updated itself, and has not done so for many months. This is a problem that didn't just come in with Catalina. Something to solve.)

Thanks for reporting this to us. In order to help you resolve this issue, can you please provide us with the below info:

  1. Are there any other Adobe products on your machine?
  2. Could you share/attach the logs placed at ~/Library/Logs/Adobe
  3. Could you also share the  ⁨version of Acrobat Update Helper.app Library⁩/Application Support⁩/Adobe/ARMDC/Application/⁩
  4. In the meantime, you can download and install the Reader update from here: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/continuous/dccontinuousoct2019.htm...

All that I can answer at this moment, as I am traveling, is No to question # 1. Question #s 2 and 3 will be answered when I return on Tuesday, October 22. Thanks for your patience. I hope that my little episode, when it gets resolved, will help others with the same predicament. alan
